Slightly mushy post of the Introductory Sort

Briefly, this blog is the brainchild of a conversation between me and young grasshopper, one of those lazy summer conversations (OH HOW I MISS THEM NOW.) in which we talked about everything and nothing, about the young grasshopper's upcoming departure for college and the sagely advice that becauseofitall could give after a year in such an institution. The conversation moved on to books, and poetry, as conversations between two modestly literary types are wont to do. And then young grasshopper mentioned writing a screen play.

Ooh! Good idea, said becauseofitall. And then, after a couple of seconds, it became, ooh! what about a blog! We could collaborate.

The actual exclamation was longer and involved a lot more squeeing, but you get my drift.

It should be called The Astronaut's Dream, said young grasshopper.

And subtitled Or The Princess Who Said I Quit, said becauseofitall, clearly on a feminist bent.

Then young grasshopper suggested we recruit two more friends. Those two friends being J. Nelson, and Ian, who has yet to join the blog, for shame. We called them up. We arranged lunch (during which J. Nelson managed to mishear Sushi Tei as CPK), sat down, and discussed.

We discussed the blog, that its contents will be a place we put down anecdotes - quirky things, little things about our life.

We discussed the blog's name, and as conversation meadnered from pot to feminism to J. Nelson's lucid dream last night, we came up with the title of Lucid Space, subtitled The Astronaut who Said -

(whatever, whenever, whyever. fill it in and see what ideas come to you.)

Will it work? said Ian, our resident skeptic. This idea that we write about anything?

It will.

All four of us are from Hong Kong. All of us went to the same high school and al of us are at different colleges. Three of us are male. One of us is female (that being me.)

We write regularly. We write honestly. That is all.
